The exhibition

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Studio BLV – Belvedere & Partners, the ADI Design Museum is hosting the exhibition “When the Essential Is Invisible to the Eye: Studio Belvedere’s Contribution to Innovation and the Protection of the Territory” from November 8 to 20.
The exhibition explores the many factors influencing territorial innovation processes, delving into three case studies in the city of Milan in which Studio Belvedere played a decisive role.
This cultural project emerged from a collaborative effort involving the entire studio and the ADI Design Museum, which is itself one of the case studies featured in the exhibition.

MILANRULES AND COMPLEXITY

Studio BLV – Belvedere & Partners played a key role in identifying ideas and insights and then organizing them into concrete proposals that set a precedent: in 1975, in stark contrast to the prevailing conventional wisdom, Antonio Belvedere published a critical commentary, article by article, on the Lombardy Region’s new urban planning law, which proposed an alternative model  aimed at “overcoming the traditional scope of urban planning conceived as an activity of containment and restriction, or at most of rationalisation, and moving towards a concept of urban planning as a function for programming territorial development”.
